Stabbing in Sterling

Sterling Police Department News Release

On September 6, 2010, at 5:09pm, officers of the Sterling Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 715 Sidney Avenue. Officers were able to contact the two males who were involved in the incident. One party was contacted at the scene. The second male was contacted by police a short distance from the scene, in a vehicle being transported to the hospital by friends.

Preliminary investigation indicates one male confronted the other over a perceived personal matter. This confrontation led to a physical altercation involving the use of knives. One male sustained injury, as a result of being stabbed, and was transported to Sterling Regional Medical Center, where he was admitted. No one else was involved, or any innocent bystanders were injured.

The Sterling Police Department continues to investigate the incident. Current assessment of the evidence does not indicate any overt threats or concerns to the public.
