Girl Scouts
of Colorado has partnered with the Western Dairy Association on an exciting new
event and program venture: Milk & Cookies. The Western Dairy Association
provided a $10,000 statewide sponsorship for a series of Milk & Cookies
events to take place at various locations in Colorado. The Morgan County event
will be held on Saturday, April 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the
4-H Building at the Morgan County Fair Grounds.
The purpose
of the Milk & Cookies events is to raise money in support of Girl Scout
programming, while also providing children and their families a fun and tasty
experience—enjoying Girl Scout cookies with a variety of dairy products. The
event will also feature hands-on information stations and games, which will
enable participants to learn and get excited about calcium, bone health, and
nutrition. The partnership between Girl Scouts and the Western Dairy
Association will also facilitate statewide programmatic opportunities for
girls—promoting nutrition, health science, and agriculture.
Meadow Gold
will serve as the event’s exclusive product sponsor and will showcase several of
their dairy products to include a variety of milk products, assorted flavors of
ice cream, yogurt varieties to be paired with fresh fruit, and a selection of
sour cream dips to be paired with fresh vegetables.
Girl Scouts
of Colorado received enough support through financial sponsorships and
individual contributions to make this event free and open to the public. Local
sponsors include the Colorado Plains Medical Center and Wells Fargo Bank. The
event is geared toward girls and boys and children and adults of all ages. This
is a wonderful opportunity for children and their parents to learn about the
benefits of health and nutrition together in a fun hands-on learning
environment.
All proceeds
raised from the Morgan County Milk & Cookies event will fund Girl Scout
programming efforts in Morgan County. If you would like additional information
