Local EMT training begins August 24th

Northeastern Junior College will offer an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic course this fall. Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 24th and will run through Saturday, December 11th.
The EMT-Basic classes are designed with the adult student in mind. They will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as some Saturday classes. The Tuesday and Thursday classes will meet from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and the Saturday classes will be full day classes.
The cost of the course and fees is: $1,263.50 – This does not include the book cost. Grant funds may be available to assist with half of the course cost. If you wish to get into this round of EMT training, call Tracy Yahn, Coordinator of Emergency Medical Services, at 521-6708 for help with the registration process.
Students in the EMT-Basic training must have already, or be able to complete a CPR for the Professional Rescuer class. This particular CPR class is being offered on Saturday, August 28th . Cost of this class is $37.50 and it will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Knowles Hall on the NJC campus. To sign up for this class, call 521-6900 by August 26th.

A similar class will be offered in Yuma this fall beginning September 13th to run through January 29th, 2011.
