***Logan County Sheriff's Office Press Release***
STERLING, COLORADO-
On Sunday a news release was issued regarding a missing child that was later found at 1116 Platte Street in Sterling, deceased. Preliminary identification of that child has identified him as Caleb Pacheco, DOB 7/15/08. The autopsy of the body was conducted on 1/23/12, with final autopsy results expected at a later date.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Caleb’s biological mother, Juanita Kinzie, DOB 9/4/87. Juanita was arrested on one charge of 18-3-102(1)(f) Murder in the First Degree, a class 1 Felony. Juanita is currently being held at the Logan County Detention Center in Sterling.
An advisement of charges took place in the 13th Judicial District Court today with Judge Michael Singer presiding. Juanita was advised of charges, a protection order was put in place, and no bond was issued. The next court date regarding this case is set for February 8th, 2012, at 9:00 A.M.
A gag order has been issued on this case. No further information will be released at this time to honor that order.
