CHSAA Music Gala Set For Monday May 2 At University of Denver

Aurora, CO – The Colorado High School Activities Association will present its first ever Vocal Music Gala on Monday, May 2, at 6:00 p.m. at the University of Denver’s Newman Center for the Performing Arts (2344 East Iliff Avenue). The event will feature 12 of the state’s top vocal groups and feature some of the world’s finest compositions for choirs. Tickets for event are $10 for adults and $7 for Students (K-12) and Senior Citizens (60 and older).

The featured high school choirs include: Prairie View’s Meistersingers (Bette Weir, Director), Lewis-Palmer’s Chamber Singers (George Dothit, Director), Discovery Canyon’s Prism (Mary Ann Brilleslyper, Director), Overland’s Cecilians (Martin Jacob, Director), Fountain-Fort Carson’s Women’s Select Choir (Ron Wilson, Director), Legacy’s Chorale (Karen Stacks, Director), Brighton’s Chamber Singers (Bonnie Simcox, Director), Gateway’s Concert Choir (John Richard, Director), Mitchell’s Madrigals (Todd DiCamillo, Director), Eaton’s Bella Voce (Christine Contreras, Director), Poudre’s Impalaphonics (Sharon Darland, Director), and Palmer’s Women’s Choir (Jeff Peckham, Director)

These choirs earned their participation in this first-ever gala by receiving Superior ratings at a CHSAA Large Group Music Festival, which are held annually during the month of April across the state.
