Qualifications/Job Description
YHS is seeking a qualified and experience coach who desires to be part of a successful and competitive athletic program. We are looking for a leader to guide our football program and compete at a very high level. Must be able to work well with students, assistants and parents to continue or foster a successful program. We are looking for leaders to add to our team of quality individuals. A coach with a proven track record of success on multiple levels would be a strong candidate.
Background:
Yuma a built a solid program that has experienced its share of success include a State Championship, Semi Finals appearance and State Playoff appearances in the last three years. Yuma has four state football titles (2009, 1962, 1960 & 1953) and is looking for a coach that can add to the tradition of Yuma Football.
Desired Qualities:
• Strong leadership skills
• High visibility in the school and community
• Outstanding communication skills (student-athletes, parents, faculty/staff, administration, boosters & media)
• Experience running summer training sessions, clinics and camps is preferred
• Strong advocate of summer weight lifting program/experience
• Experience running preseason and postseason parents/awards meetings
• Technology skills
• Fundraising experience
• Solid coaching background
• Organizational skills – Coordination of all facets of the program
• Proven track record
Must possess a Colorado Teaching License, or possess a certificate from the CHSAA authorizing individual to perform in the role of a professional coach. Must have completed CHSSA coaching test and must have a valid first aid and CPR card. Must pass annual concussion course and provide verification of passage. Members of the teaching staff who apply and work for the school will have preference, based on experience and qualifications. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and must have impeccable references from previous employers and/or supervisors/athletic directors, principals.
