ONE ARRESTED AFTER ASSAULTING FATHER AND BARRICADING SELF IN ATTIC

Atwood, Colorado – On June 6th, 2011, at approximately 1730 hours, Logan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported assault at 16373 Hwy 6 in Atwood, Colorado. Upon arrival a 52 year old male was contacted with head injuries. The victim advised deputies that the suspect, later identified as William D. Ramey, DOB 4/2/89, was still in the residence and possibly armed with a firearm.

Deputies entered the home and located a footprint in the garage, leading to an attic area. Movement was observed in the attic area. William did not obey verbal commands. Due to the report of a possible weapon, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) were notified and responded to the scene.

Once the S.R.T. arrived on scene, verbal commands were given and William again did not respond to verbal commands. Pepper Spray was deployed in the attic area. The subject again did not respond to verbal commands. A front vent on the residence was broken open and prior to further action William began to comply with verbal commands to exit the attic.

William was taken into custody and taken to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with 3rd Degree Assault, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Obstruction of a Telephone Service. He is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
