City of Sterling's Annual July 4th Activities

Plans for the City of Sterling's Annual July 4th activities have been solidified.  Everyone is encouraged to attend the free activities.

The fun begins at 7pm, Wednesday, July 4, at the Pioneer Park Security Pavilion with the band "Joe Fornothin."  "Joe Fornothin" is a high energy rock band from Parker.  The band has a unique rock sound blending a bit of classic blues rock with an overtone of modern rock.  The band has played at some of Denver's most popular venues and has shared the stage with several big bands.  In August 2011, they played with Everclear, The BoDeans, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds in Denver.  In July 2010, they opened for the legendary southern rock band Blackfoot, and have also opened for Britain's Back Door Slam at the Soiled Dove Underground.  "Joe Fornothin" has performed at Herman's Hideaway, the Walnut Room, and the Gothic Theatre.  They have performed at Denver's People's Fair Festival for the past five years (2007-2011) and have traveled several times to South Dakota for the Sturgis Rally.  "Joe Fornothin" has shared the stage with some of Denver's hottest bands including the Railbenders, Opie Gone Bad, and Hazel Miller. The City of Sterling's Annual July 4th fireworks display will start with a "bang" at approximately 9pm.  When the fireworks end, the band "Joe Fornothin" will finish off the evening by playing another full set until 10:30pm.

All area residents, their families, and friends are encouraged to attend the 4th of July celebration, compliments of the City of Sterling.
