NJC to debut community jazz band at First Friday

Numerous students to perform at free event

Students from the Northeastern Junior College music department will be the featured performers over the lunch hour at the First Friday recital series at the First Presbyterian Church on November 2nd.  These popular performances take place over the lunch hour, from 12:05 to 12:35 p.m. They are free and open to the public and always held on the first Friday of the month. 

Performances are held at 130 South 4th Street in the sanctuary of the church. NJC will showcase its women’s chamber ensemble, selected voice, piano, and guitar soloists and will debut the new NJC community jazz band. Among the students performing will be Nick Jones,  Steven Cordova, Rebekah Herron, Jessie Miller, Carl Snider, Hilea Zwirn, Kristi Squier, Kaylee Groshans and Sarah Heimbegner. They will be performing under the direction of Celeste Delgado-Pelton, director of and professor for the college’s  music program.
