Colo. ‑‑ The Colorado High
School Activities Association’s 92nd year of sanctioning high school
athletics in the state continues next week with the advent of practice for
winter sports. The formal winter season begins with practice on November 9 for
basketball, ice hockey, girls’ swimming and wrestling. In skiing, the schools
begin when snow conditions allow them on the slope.
Teams can begin
scrimmaging on Thursday, November 15. Each athlete must have a minimum of 5
practices in order to compete in an interscholastic contest or scrimmage. The
first contest for winter sports is Wednesday, November 28.
