Sterling Public Library is bringing McGuire
Law, an immigration law firm, to the library on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 3:00
PM and 5:00 PM for a free information session about the new Deferred Action for
Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. This policy benefits individuals who entered
the United States without permission as a child or youth and provides an
opportunity for them to receive deferred action for two years, subject to
renewal, and to apply for work authorization. The session will include a
presentation about the policy, including eligibility requirements, methods of
application, risks and benefits of applying, and where to find more
information. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions
about DACA or any other immigration-related issue and receive answers from a
qualified immigration attorney. This bi-lingual Spanish/English event is free
to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is not
required.
