City of Sterling Accepting Registrations for Girl's Wildcat Softball Leagues

Girls 4 Year Olds: Whiffle T-Ball
Girls 5 & 6 Year Olds: T-Ball
Girls 7 & 8 Year Olds: Staff Pitch
Girls 9-16 Year Olds: Fast pitch

Registration is underway for the upcoming City of Sterling, Girls Wildcat Youth Softball Program.  Again this year, the program will go by the participant's age, not their grade.

Fee is $30 per play for all divisions and includes a team t-shirt.

Deadline to enter is Wednesday, April 17.  The registration/liability waiver form and fee may be mailed to, or dropped off at the Sterling Recreation Center, 808 Elm St., Sterling, CO, 80751.  Sterling Recreation Center hours are Monday-Friday from 5:30am-9pm; Saturday 11:30am-9pm; Sunday 1-6pm.

There will be 6 games in the Whiffle T-Ball, T-Ball, and Staff Pitch divisions, and 8 games in the fast pitch divisions.  Weather permitting, games begin May 28 and go through July 26.  Games may be played any night of the week.

Girls Whiffle T-Ball Division
For all girls that are 4 years old by May 28.  All hitting will be done from a tee.  Participants will be placed on teams by the Recreation Division.  Softball glove not necessary to participate.

Girls T-Ball Division
For all girls 5 & 6 years old.  Players must be 5 years old by May 28.  All hitting will be done from a tee.  Participants will be placed on teams by the Recreation Division.

Girls Staff Pitch Division
For all girls 7 & 8 years old.  Players must be 7 years old by May 28.  The City will provide a staff member to pitch to the players.  Participants will be placed on teams by the Recreation Division.

Girls Fast Pitch Divisions
Divisions will be 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, & 15/16 year olds.  A player's division is determined by the age as of May 28.  Fast pitch divisions are done by a draft format for all Sterling participants.  Every player that signs up will be selected.  There will be a player skills assessment on Sunday, April 21 at 1pm at the City Softball Complex.  The draft will be held on Sunday, April 28 at 1pm at the Sterling Recreation Center.  Pre-season pitcher and catcher clinic dates will be announced.
