Sterling
Public Library is hosting a 1600 Race this Saturday, March 9th at 9:15
a.m. as a part of our celebration of quilts.
At the end of the morning participants will have finished a quilt
top.
Anyone
who can sew a reasonably straight seam is qualified to participate. People may work in teams. Each person or team will sew 1600 inches of
fabric into one quilt top. Participants
need to bring their own fabric (a jelly role), sewing machine, thread,
scissors, extension cord and fleece for backing. Participants can also cut their own strips if
they prefer.
For
more information about a 1600 race you may go to http://www.heirloomcreations.net or
search 1600 race on You Tube. If you
have questions you may call the library at 522-2023.
Finished
quilts will be donated to patients at the Walsh Cancer Center.
