LCSO WELCOMES NEW DEPUTY!

LCSO Press Release

STERLING, COLORADO - Today the Logan County Sheriff’s Office welcomes its newest member – Deputy Justice! Deputy Justice is a black Labrador retriever, outfitted in a Logan County Sheriff’s Office uniform shirt and duty pants.

Deputy Justice will serve as the department mascot and be the representative figure of the Community Resource Team (CRT) youth programs. Through generous grant funding from Centennial Mental Health Center (CMHC), we were able to acquire the funding needed to bring the mascot to Logan County this year.

Deputy Justice will be present for the Logan County Parade this year, as well as possible random visits to the Logan County Fair. He will be featured in upcoming CRT projects and printed programs (children’s coloring books, safety brochures, child ID kits, etc), and will be integrated with Blue Santa fundraising efforts.

The LCSO CRT offers over 30 School and Community Programs to the citizens of Logan County. Over the past two years, the CRT has had great success due to financial donations and grants from partnering agencies and local businesses. The current list of CRT partners include Sterling Youth Services, the Sterling Police Department, Rural Solutions, the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Centennial Mental Health Center, High Plains Sexual Assault Center, the Haxtun Police Department, the Sterling Correctional Facility and the Logan County Department of Social Services. With these outstanding partnerships the CRT is able to offer a large number of high quality programs where members of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and partnering agencies provide the programs to pre-school children through seniors.
