Suspect in Sterling Stabbing Still At Large

On September 20, 2010, at 5:49 pm, officers of the Sterling Police Department responded to a reported stabbing that occurred in the Hot Java Express Drive Thru, located at 100 N. Division Avenue.

Subsequent to the ongoing investigation, the Sterling Police Department has confirmed the identity of the suspect involved in the stabbing. The suspect is identified as, Heather Roxanne McDonald, age 18. An arrest warrant has been obtained for her arrest.

The warrant was obtained for the following charge:

• CRS 18-3-201(1)(a) Assault in the First Degree, a class 3 Felony

As of the time of this press release, Ms. McDonald has not been located. The Sterling Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have been, and continue to try to locate Ms. McDonald. The 21 year old female victim remains in the hospital due to injuries she suffered during the stabbing incident.

Ms. McDonald is described as a white female, 5’3” tall, 93 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone that has information on Ms. McDonald’s whereabouts or witnessed the incident is encouraged to call the Sterling Police Department at 522-3512. Continued assessment of the evidence does not indicate any overt threats to the public.
