NJC Press Release
Northeastern Junior College Extended Studies Department is offering a Microsoft Publisher-Newsletter Design Class in October. This class will run Tuesday and Thursday evenings between October 5 and October 14th. It will meet four times, October 5, October 7th, October 12 and October 14th. Class will be held on each of these nights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
According to instructor Barbara Baker, this is not a beginner class. Students in the class should be familiar with the Publisher program , have it on their own computers, and already know how to use the basic tools. Ideally, students will have at least some experience creating newsletters or brochures already. This class will build upon these existing skills and fine tune your approach to designing your pieces.
It takes good, basic layout design to assure and improve readership of a newsletter being used to help market an organization, product or service. This class will help newsletter editors, paid or volunteer, understand how and when to use templates or to choose to create their own layouts. Class will cover the effective use of color, clipart, photos, type fonts, and all the tricks in layout that make newsletters entertaining and “eye” friendly so that they are read.
Cost of this class is $66.11 per student, or $42.04 for Prime Time Learners, over age 60. To be in this class, you need to register with Jessica Fritzler at 521-6900 by Thursday, September 30th.
