The Library has many holiday
events planned in December. The Library
is helping “Sterling Sparkle” with our Parade of Trees. There are many beautiful trees again this
year. We have had some new volunteers
decorating trees. On Wed., Dec. 4th;
Mon., Dec. 9th; Tues., Dec. 17th and Thur., Dec. 19th
the Library will be dimming the lights to view the trees. During the evening we will serve
refreshments.
We will host our annual
Christmas Tea on Friday, Dec. 13th at 2:00 p.m. You may begin picking up tickets for the tea
on Monday, Dec. 2nd at 9:00 a.m.
This year our entertainment will be provided by Janet Bigler, Tara
Edelman and Peggy Lillich. Janet will be
doing two Christmas readings – A Cup of Christmas Tea and the Memory of a
Christmas Tea. Tara Edelen and Peggy
Lillich will be providing wonderful holiday music. Tara plays the flute and will be accompanied
by Peggy on the piano. We have just a
few tickets left so stop in and pick up yours soon.
On Friday and Saturday, Dec.
6th and 7th the Friends of the Library will hold their
annual, Cookie, Candy and Book Sale. The
Sale will be held in the Library Community Room. The sale will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Friends are asking anyone willing to
donate cookies or candy to have them at the Library by 9:30 a.m. on Friday if
possible. They will accept donations of
goodies at anytime.
On Tuesday, Dec. 10th
from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the Recreation Center and Library will host Santa
City at Sterling Public Library. This is
a great event for kids of all ages.
Santa will be here to listen to Christmas wishes and parents may take
pictures. This year we ask that parents
bring their own equipment for pictures.
There will also be a craft to make, pictures to color, movies, drawings
to enter and refreshments. The NJC
Women’s Basketball team will be at Santa City registering people for the chance
to win 1 of 24 signed basketballs.
