Northeastern Junior College’s Extended Studies Department is offering some special training for area restaurant and bar employees. The college will provide a TIPS Class-Training for Intervention Procedures, which is designed for servers at restaurants, bars, hotels or any other establishment where alcohol is consumed on premises.
Restaurants and bars are great places for people to socialize and have a good time.. It is the servers in these establishments who often must be able to deal any problem behavior or challenges associated with underage drinking, over drinking and the potential for drunk driving. Employees in this class will learn strategies for serving alcohol responsibly while providing the best customer service. This course will meet the requirements for the Colorado Responsible Vendor Program (RVP). Participants will take the TIPS certification exam after the training. Bartenders, barbacks, servers, owners and managers are all encouraged to take this training.
Cost of the class is $40 per person. It will be held Saturday, April 23rd from 10 a.m. t0o 1 p.m. Individuals who desire and need this training should register by Thursday, April 21st by calling 521-6900. Location and instructor information will be provided upon registration.
