City of Sterling Reminds Owners of Leash Laws at City Parks

The Sterling Department of Parks, Library, and Recreation would like to remind all pet owners that their pets must be kept on a leash at all times; this includes the wooded trails area at Pioneer Park.  The Overland Trail Recreation Area (fishing pond) is the only Sterling city park where a leash is not required; however, pets must remain under the control of their owners at all times.  Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets in all City Parks.  Violators are subject to ticketing per Sec. 13-53, animals running at large, and Sec. 13-54, defecation by animals.

If you have questions, please contact the Sterling Parks, Library, and Recreation office at 522-9700.
