Join North Sterling State Park staff and special guest speakers Brian Kailey and Megan Jedlicka from CSU Extension for a fun evening full of kid's games and activities around a campfire! From learning how to navigate through nature using a compass and GPS to enhancing your fishing skills; don't miss out on these great outdoor adventures! Kids of all ages along with any parent or guardian are welcome to join. Park passes are required per vehicle; however, there is no need to sign up or any extra costs to participate. The event will be held Saturday, July 27 starting at 6pm at Inlet Grove Amphitheater (south entrance of the park).

Wray Recreation Department Fishing Club starts June 10

The Wray Recreation Department is beginning the Wray Fishing Club on Monday, June 10. The club will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Stalker Pond and the Republican River. The first fishing site will be at Stalker Pond where you will meet your group leaders. The cost is $20 and pre-registration is requested at the City Hall. This class will stress the fundamental of fishing and focus on how to respect nature and wildlife.The young fishermen will learn about lures, baits, fish species identification, fishing regulations, etc. For more information call 970-332-4419.

Sterling Kiwanis Fishing Derby June 1
The Sterling Kiwanis Fishing Derby will be held on June 1 beginning at 8am. Kiwanis members and Colorado Division of Wildlife
personnel will be on hand to offer instruction and assistance. There also will
be a casting contest with prizes for the winners. Free refreshments will be
available for all participants. No fishing license is necessary for the Fishing

Sterling Kiwanis Annual Fishing Derby June 2

The Sterling Kiwanis Club will be hosting its Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday June 2nd at the Overland Trail Recreation Area. Families with children ages 4-12 are invited to attend. Registration will begin at 7:30am. Bring your family and friends, your fishing gear, lawn chairs, sunscreen, and bug spray, and spend the morning fishing with Kiwanis Club members. The pond will be stocked with hungry fish and bait will be provided. The Division of Wildlife will be on hand with activities for all. The annual casting contest will be held as well. Prizes will be awarded to the best casters in each age group. Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the morning.
