Youth Entrepreneurship Camp for Phillips and Sedgwick Counties June 23-26

A Youth Entrepreneurship Camp for 5-7th grade students in Phillips and Sedgwick Counties will be held June 23-26 from 9am-3pm at the Sedgwick and Phillips County Fairgrounds. Learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur, explore the core values of business and how to give back to the community and more. “The Farming Evolution-Where Do You Fit?” workshop Feb 13 in Holyoke

February 13, there will be a “The Farming Evolution-Where Do You Fit?” workshop in the big room in the Event Center at the Fairgrounds in Holyoke. Registration will begin at 7:30am and the workshop will start at 8am. The workshop will conclude at 3:30pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided and there is no registration fee.

Attendees will hear some of the exciting discoveries about how soils work, see a rainfall simulator, hear about cover crops in Phillips County, technology on the farm, and some economic considerations of tillage changes. The workshop will close with a panel of no-till farmers including Scott Ravenkamp, Dietrich Kastens, and Steve Tucker. They will share how they moved from conventional tillage to where they are today. There will be plenty of time for questions.

"Stress Reduction for Diabetes & Other Chronic Diseases" webinar November 14

"Stress Reduction for Diabetes & Other Chronic Diseases" will be held November 14th from 12-1pm. This webinar is presented by Michelle Sharp of Rural Solutions and sponsored by the Northeast Colorado Diabetes Task Force.  The webinar will focus on the impact stress has on health and ways to manage and reduce its effects. This special program will be broadcast live at several locations so participants will be able to interact. There is no fee to attend the seminar, but registration is required. Holly Daze October 26 at Holyoke High School

The Phillips County Jolly Dozen FCE Club will be holding Holly Daze on Saturday, October 26 from 9am-3pm at Holyoke High School.  There will be arts, crafts, gifts, wood, baked goods, decorated fashions, and much more.  Lunch will also be available.

Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke Offering Zumba Starting September 3

The Phillips County Event Center will be having Zumba classes starting Tuesday, September 3rd. Classes will be Monday and Friday mornings from 5:30-6:30am and Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions from 5:30-6:30pm. The cost is $5 per class or $30 for an 8 session punch card. Come the first night and you get a punch card for free. Children are welcome with parental supervision, if you have any questions, you can call Tracy at 854-3616

The Phillips County Family Education Services is having a registration night, August 26th at 6:30pm in the Event Center in Holyoke. Some of the classes to register for are English As a Second Language, GED Preparation, and After School Homework Help Program. Classes start August 27th and everyone is invited to enjoy free ice cream, child care, and a chance to win free prizes. 

Phillips County Players present "Laffing Room Only" at Holyoke High School

The Phillips County Players present "Laffing Room Only" a play by Tim Kelly. The play will take place August 2nd at 7:30 pm, August 3rd at 7:30 pm and August 4th at 2:00 pm. The play will be at the Holyoke High school Auditorium with a cost of $10 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
