City of Sterling Thanksgiving Trash Schedule

The City of Sterling will observe Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 as holidays.  Because of this holiday schedule, trash will be collected only one day for each route during that week.  Monday and Thursday's route will be collected on Monday, November 25 only.  Tuesday and Friday's route will be collected on Tuesday, November 26 only.  Wednesday and Saturday's route will be collected Wednesday, November 27 only.  The schedule will return to normal on Monday, December 2.

Thanksgiving Schedule for Sterling Department of Parks, Library, and Recreation

Operating hours for the Recreation Office, Recreation Center, Sterling Public Library, Overland Trail Museum, and the Riverside Cemetery Office will be modified for the Thanksgiving holiday.

• Wednesday, November 21 - Library and Recreation Center close at 5pm.  Pool closes at 4pm.
• Thursday, November 22 - Thanksgiving Day - all facilities closed
• Friday, November 23 - Recreation Center open regular hours.  No classes held.  All other facilities closed
• Saturday, November 24 - Overland Trail Museum, Sterling Public Library, and Recreation Center open regular hours.

High Plains Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day in Sterling

The 9th Annual High Plains Turkey Trot Thanksgiving 5K Run/Walk/Stroll or 1-Mile Leisure Loop will be held Thursday, November 22.  Registration starts at 7:30am with the race starting at 8:30am at Peace Lutheran Church, 1404 S. 9th Avenue in Sterling.  You can also pre-register or pick up registration packets from 4:30-6pm at Sterling Regional MedCenter in the community room on Wednesday, November 21.  Registration is also available at www.active.com.  Proceeds benefit Cooperating Ministry of Logan County and Sterling Regional MedCenter Patients.

The City of Sterling will observe Thursday, November 22, and Friday, November 23 as holidays.  Because of this holiday schedule, trash will be collected only one day for each route during that week:

Monday & Thursday's route will be collected Monday Only (11/19)
Tuesday & Friday's route will be collected Tuesday Only (11/20)
Wednesday & Saturday's route will be collected Wednesday Only (11/21)

The schedule will return to normal on Monday, November 26.
