School for the Performing Arts Fall Registration

THE SCHOOL FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS is having their fall registration. They offer instruction in voice, piano, acting, guitar, and drums. Registration for existing students will be held Mon. Aug. 18 from 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm. New students can register on Tues. Aug. 19 at the same times. Call 867-0497 to set up a time if the above do not work for you.

Students may register at any time during the school year, as tuition is applied on a monthly basis. Registration forms can also be found on Facebook.

There is a one-time registration fee of $45, with registration specials being offered for paying the semester or year in advance.

ALL students are encouraged to apply for scholarships to help offset the cost of tuition. Applications are available at the SPA or on Facebook and are due Sept. 12.

Carnival of Fun Benefit August 16 in Ft. Morgan

The Carnival of Fun to benefit Nathan Meeks will be held August 16 from 3-6pm at Riverside Park: Pavilion B in Fort Morgan. The carnival is to help raise funds to assist the Meeks family in Nathan's fight against Ewing's Sarcoma Cancer. Get a team together for a tug-of-war ($5 for a team of 4), plus there will be activities, food, music, and more. For questions call Heather at 970-630-9961.

Players needed for 50 and over Bowling League

Men and women age 50 and over are needed for a senior's bowling league. Teams are 3 people each and bowling begins September 2 at 1pm. Bowling will be every Tuesday at 1pm at Morgan Lanes, 300 E. Railroad Ave. in Fort Morgan. If you are interested call Pat at 842-9814 or Marcene at 867-6589.

Mustang Athletic Picnic August 16

The Fort Morgan High School Booster Club will host the annual Mustang Athletic Picnic on Saturday, August 16, at 5pm at Legion Field in Fort Morgan. Athletes do not need to bring food items this year. Please wear athletic shoes to participate in team events.

The Lighthouse Seventh-day Adventist Christian School is opening soon in Fort Morgan. You are invited to attend the Parent Information Night and Application Event on July 28 between 4:30 to 7:30. Spunk and Spirit Christian Writers Group Meets July 21

Time for brainstorming, free writing, and learning about flash fiction will be offered at the next Spunk and Spirit Christian Writers Group meeting on Monday, July 21, from 6:30-8 pm at Life Fellowship in Fort Morgan.

Those attending should bring writing material for the writing exercises.

Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer Vacation Bible School Starts July 21

Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer will be holding their annual Vacation Bible School, July 21st-25th, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. This year's VBS theme is titled "Gifted to Grow" and it will be free. It will be for grades pre-K through 6th grade. Lunch will be provided daily. Registration forms are available in the church office. Deadline for registering is Monday, July 14th,2014. This year's Vacation Bible School staff will include members of LCOR, along with camp counselors from Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp. The community is invited to attend. Trinity Lutheran School Garage Sale July 12

Trinity Lutheran School will be holding a huge garage sale on Saturday, July 12 from 8am to 3pm to raise money for a new phone system at the school. The school is at 1215 W. 7th Ave. in Fort Morgan (behind Murdock's). This is an indoor garage sale including office furniture, framed pictures, and anything a garage saler could want.

Vacation Bible School will be held at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan on July 7th thru 11th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm each day with dinner furnished. VBS is for children age 3 years through the 5th grade. No pre-registration necessary.

Fort Morgan Boys Basketball Camp June 23-26

The Fort Morgan Boys Basketball Camp for those in grades 1-7 will be held June 23-26. 1st-4th grade will go from 8-10am, 5-7 from 10:30am-12:30pm. Cost is $30. Hershey's Track & Field Games June 14 in Ft. Morgan

The Hershey’s Track & Field Games for youths age 9 to 14 will return to Fort Morgan Saturday, June 14, at Legion Field.

The free event includes basic track and field competition for boys and girls, with the goal of promoting physical fitness and participation. There are no qualification requirements, and parents can register online or at Legion Field on the day of the event. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Saturday

Events include the 50-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and 1,600-meter run, as well as 4x100-meter relays, standing long jump and softball throw.

Winners have the chance to advance to regional or state events, and may have the chance to be selected to travel to the North American Final in Hershey, Pa., in August.

Volleyball Camp Starting June 3 in Fort Morgan

The Star All-Skills Volleyball Camp with begin Tuesday, June 3rd and will run each Tuesday and Thursday in June at Star Athletic Club in Fort Morgan. Camp for 5th & 6th grades will be at 6pm and 7th & 8th grades at 7pm.

NCHD Healthy Child Clinic June 11 in Sterling

Northeast Colorado Health Department is holding a Healthy Child Clinic on Wednesday, June 11 from 9am-2:30pm at their office in Sterling, located at 700 Columbine Street. This clinic is for all children, age 6 months to 5 years and offers many FREE screenings, such as vision, hearing, developmental, height, weight, social/emotional, speech, and dental. 15th Annual Morgan County CSU Alumni Golf Tournament June 13

The 15th Annual Morgan County CSU Alumni Association "Giovanni" Golf Tournament scholarship auction and dinner will be held June 13 at Quail Dunes Golf Course in Fort Morgan. Little Lambs Preschool Registration Night May 29 in Fort Morgan

Little Lambs, Trinity Early Learning Center will be hosting a Preschool Registration Night on Thursday, May 29th from 5-7pm. Registrations are being taken for summer and fall sessions.  There are openings available in the part day, full day and extended day programs. Generational Differences in the Workplace May 22 in Fort Morgan

"Generational Differences in the Workplace" will be held May 22 at noon in the Morgan Community College Founders Room in Fort Morgan. This mini-training is designed to remind us of the needs and strengths of each generation so that we may best balance our internal resources and maintain a high level of success in each of our endeavors. The School for the Performing Arts 2014 Spring Recitals will be held May 16 and 17 in Fort Morgan. Guitar, bass, and drum recitals will be Friday, May 16 at 7pm at Life Fellowship Church, 17723 CR 20, and voice, piano, violin, and acting monologue recitals will be held at 2pm, 4pm, and 4pm on Saturday, May 17 at The Sanctuary, 14587 Hwy 34.

The Valley View Villa "Relay For Life" Team will hold a fundraiser on Friday, April 25th.
