Otis 4th of July Volleyball Tournament, Oyster Fry, and Fireworks

The 6th Annual Otis 4th of July Volleyball Tournament will be held July 4 starting at 8am at the Otis baseball field. The doubles volleyball tournament will have 3 divisions: 13 years and under (junior), adult division 1 which is a competitive division, and adult division 2 which is less competitive and more for fun. The entry fee is $20 for juniors and $25 for adults. Sign up by calling or texting Haley Patterson at (970)-227-3842 or Kylee Kuntz at (970)-630-2260. Please register by July 3 at 8pm. There will be a late fee if you don't pre-register. The Otis Volunteer Fireman's Oyster Fry will be July 4 at 4:30pm at the Otis Fire Hall, and fireworks will follow at dusk.

Anyone interested in becoming a volleyball official, here are some important dates to remember.

REGIONAL CLINICS...August 12th, 5:30pm - 9pm; Registration 5pm-5:29pm in the Merino High School Auditorium.

NEW OFFICIALS STUDY SESSIONS...July 29th, August 4th, August 11th at the Bank of Colorado Event Center Classroom at 6pm. Test on August 18th.

VETERANS AND NEWS OFFICIALS STUDY SESSIONS...August 25th, September 15th, September 29th and October 13th at NJC Bank of Colorado Event Center Classroom at 6pm

MECHANICS CLINIC...June 27th at Fleming High School at 8:30am...and...August 16th at Brush High School at 8am.

Everyone needs to go to a regional clinic, one study session before the season starts, and one study session after the season starts. First to third year officials must go to a mechanics clinic also. It is recommended to all new officials to hit as many of the new officials study sessions as possible. Dues are $84.00 and due when new officials get their books.

Volleyball Camp Starting June 3 in Fort Morgan

The Star All-Skills Volleyball Camp with begin Tuesday, June 3rd and will run each Tuesday and Thursday in June at Star Athletic Club in Fort Morgan. Camp for 5th & 6th grades will be at 6pm and 7th & 8th grades at 7pm.

City of Sterling Adult 4-on-4 Sand Volleyball League Registration Underway

The Department of Parks, Library and Recreation is currently accepting team registrations for a “NEW” Adult “4 on 4” Sand Volleyball Program.  An eight (8) game season will begin June 4th and end July 27th, 2014. Games are played on Wednesday and Friday evenings.  Tournaments are no longer conducted in City Recreational Programs.

ENTRY FEE:  $50.00 PER TEAM.  Make checks payable to the City of Sterling and MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE A TEAM IS CONSIDERED ENTERED INTO A LEAGUE.

DUE DATE:   WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2014.  

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES:  2 ways to register!  

1. To register using a registration form: Forms are available at the Recreation Center, The registration fee must accompany the registration form.

Xstatics Volleyball Fundraiser Jan 31 in Fort Morgan

Food-N-Fun Fundraiser to benefit X-Statics volleyball players will be held January 31 at American Legion Post 19 in Fort Morgan. Tickets are $35 each and admission includes food, poker tournament, casino games, and silent auction. Food is served at 7pm, games start at 7:30pm. Tickets are also available at Star Athletic Club in Fort Morgan, from any Xstatics player, or at the door on a space available basis.

Northeastern Volleyball Club Informational Meeting November 4 in Sterling

Caliche High School Homecoming 2013

Caliche High School Homecoming 2013 is September 27.  Volleyball starts at 4pm, football starts at 7:30pm, with both against Sedgwick County.  There will be a barbeque on the basketball courts behind the school starting at 5pm.  Coronation and bonfire will be held September 26 at 7pm.

Wray Recreation Dept Holding Volleyball Round Up August 16 and 17

There will be a Volleyball Round Up for girls going into the grades of 3-6 on August 16th and 17th (Friday and Saturday) morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Wray Elementary Gym.  There is no entrance fee.  Season program information will also be handed out during the clinic.  Come get a head start on volleyball and start focusing on the fundamentals!  For more information call the Wray Recreation Department at (970) 332-4419.

City of Sterling Accepting Registrations for Adult Fall Volleyball Programs

The Sterling Department of Parks, Library, and Recreation is currently accepting team registrations for the Adult Fall Volleyball Program.  The eight game season will begin the week of September 19.

The entree fee for the divisions is $150.  Registration forms and fees may be mailed to, or dropped off at the Sterling Recreation Center, 808 Elm Street, Sterling CO 80751.  Sterling Recreation Center hours are: Monday-Friday 5:30am-9pm; Saturday 9am-9pm; Sunday 1-6pm.

The due date to enter is 9pm on August 21.

Leagues are filled on a first come, first served basis.

City of Sterling Accepting Registrations for Girls Youth Volleyball Program

Registration is underway for the upcoming City of Sterling, Girls Youth Volleyball Program.  The program is available to girls in the 2nd through 6th grade.  Players must play in their grade division.

Cost is $30 per player and the deadline to enter is August 14.

Registration forms and fees may be mailed to, or dropped off at the Sterling Recreation Center, 808 Elm Street, Sterling CO 80751.  Sterling Recreation Center hours are: Monday-Friday 5:30am-9pm; Saturday 9am-9pm; Sunday 1-6pm.

There will be 6 games for all grade divisions.  Practices cannot begin until the week of August 26.  Games are played on Saturday at Sterling Middle School and Northeastern Junior College starting September 21.

C.A.R.A. rules with some modifications will govern play.  Teams will practice once a week after school or in the early evening at the elementary and middle schools in Sterling.  Volunteer coaches are needed to conduct this program.

Adult Doubles Volleyball Tournament July 20 in Wray

There will be an adult Doubles Volleyball Tournament on Saturday July 20th at the Wray High School Gym. Registration will be at 8 am with the play starting at 9 am. The fee is $20.00 per team and you can make your checks payable to the City of Wray. There will be a cash prize and T-Shirt given to the first place winners and you must be over 18 to play. Sterling Recreation Department holding registration for Adult Sand Volleyball Program

The Sterling Department of Parks, Library, and Recreation is currently accepting team registrations for the Adult Sand Volleyball Program.  An eight game season will begin June 24 and end July 26, and games will be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings.  Tournaments are no longer conducted in City Recreational Programs.

The entry fee is $50 per team and must be paid in full before a team is considered entered into a league.  The registration deadline is June 12.  Make checks payable to the City of Sterling.

Teams are responsible for officiating their own matches.  The Supervisor will make a final decision if needed.

Players play in bare feet but will be allowed to participate in socks.  Players are not allowed to play in shoes.

The league is open to male and female players.

All matches will be played at Prairie Park, across from the Recreation Center.

Leagues are filled on a first come first served basis for 12 teams.

Clinics & study sessions for those interested in becoming a volleyball official will be held as follows:

Regional clinics - August 14th from 5pm to 7:45pm at NJC Bank of Colorado Event Center. Registration from 4:30pm to 5pm that day.

New Official Study Sessions - July 29th at Hagen Elementary; August 5th & 12th at NJC Bank of Colorado Event Center Classroom at 6pm. Test on August 19th.

Veteran's and New Officials Study Sessions - August 26th, September 9th & 23rd, October 7th & 21st - NJC Bank of Colorado Event Center Classroom at 6pm.
